About Warm Home Support

Warm Home Support exists to make home-heating choices easier to understand, and to help property owners explore the options that actually suit their property.

What this website is for

Heating decisions get made rarely, usually under some pressure, and often on the basis of a single conversation. Meanwhile the information available is a mix of official guidance written for installers, marketing written to sell one product, and articles that were accurate two rule changes ago.

This site sits between those. It explains the Boiler Upgrade Scheme as it currently stands in England and Wales, sets out what heat pumps ask of a property, covers the ordinary boiler work most homes actually need, and tries to be honest about which of those you are dealing with.

What we help with

  • Understanding grants. What the Boiler Upgrade Scheme covers, what it is worth, who can use it and — just as importantly — what it does not fund.
  • Working out whether it is worth pursuing. Our eligibility checker walks through the main criteria and gives you a plain-English summary of where you appear to stand.
  • Choosing between heating options. Air source, ground source, air-to-air, or a straightforward boiler replacement — with guides written to be useful whichever way the answer falls.
  • Getting the work done. Tell us about the property through the quote form and we will come back to you about next steps.

How we work

You tell us about the property and what is happening with the heating. We come back to you about the realistic options, what a survey would need to establish, and what happens next. There is no obligation at any point, and there is nothing to pay for information.

Where a grant is in play, remember that the scheme is installer-led: the application is made by an MCS-certified installer on the property owner's behalf, and the value is applied as a reduction in the installation cost rather than paid to you.

How we handle scheme information

Grant rules change, and a lot of what is published about them online is out of date or was never right. These are the rules we hold ourselves to.

Figures never travel without their conditions
A grant value on its own is close to meaningless — it is the conditions that decide whether it applies to you. Every figure on this site is rendered next to the condition it depends on, at the same size, in the same breath.
Sources are named and dated
Scheme pages cite the GOV.UK and Ofgem guidance behind them and show when it was last checked — currently 5 September 2026. If our summary and the official guidance ever disagree, the guidance is right and we want to know.
We do not tell people they qualify
Eligibility is assessed when an installer applies. A tool that told you otherwise would be selling certainty it does not have, and this is a market where that does real financial harm.
We say the inconvenient parts out loud
The scheme does not fund a replacement gas boiler. Not every off-grid property gets the higher value. Sometimes a boiler is the right answer and a heat pump is not. Those are on the homepage, not buried in small print.

Who we are not

Two clarifications that matter more in this market than in most.

What you will not find on this site

There are no star ratings, no customer counts, no years-in-business figures and no trade scheme logos on these pages. That is not modesty — it is that we have not published anything we cannot evidence, and a badge nobody has verified is worth less than not having one.

Company details

Company registration and trading details will be published here once they are confirmed. In the meantime you can reach us through the contact page, and we will answer any question about who you are dealing with directly.
