What does Warm Home Support do?
We explain the home-energy support and heating options available, and help you work out which route is relevant to your property — grants, heat pumps, boilers or solar.
Do you install the equipment?
We are an information and enquiry service rather than an installer. Where a survey or quotation is appropriate, it is carried out by a suitably qualified installer for that work — and for Boiler Upgrade Scheme heat pumps, that must be an MCS-certified installer.
What happens after I send an enquiry?
A member of our team reviews your answers and contacts you by phone or email to talk through the most relevant next step. We tell you who would carry out any survey before one is arranged.
Am I committing to anything?
No. Checking eligibility and asking questions is free and carries no obligation. You decide whether to go ahead at every stage.

What does Warm Home Support do?
Warm Home Support is an independent home-energy information and enquiry service. We explain the grants and heating options available, help you check which route may apply to your home, and — where appropriate — help you move to a survey or quotation with a suitably qualified installer. There is no obligation at any stage.
Is Warm Home Support part of the government?
No. We are not GOV.UK, Ofgem or a government department. The schemes we explain are run by government bodies, and our scheme pages link to the official guidance they are based on.
How much is the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant?
Under current rules in England and Wales: £7,500 for air-to-water heat pumps, £7,500 for ground source heat pumps, £2,500 for air-to-air heat pumps, £5,000 for biomass boilers. Qualifying off-gas-grid homes replacing oil or LPG heating with an air source or ground source heat pump may receive up to £9,000 until 31 March 2027. Eligibility and technology conditions apply, and not every property qualifies.
Can I get a grant for a new gas boiler?
Not through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme or the Warm Homes: Local Grant — neither funds new gas boilers. ECO4 can fund heating upgrades for some qualifying households, but it closes on 31 December 2026 and funding is not guaranteed. Our boiler pages cover replacing a boiler without a grant.
Is there a grant for solar panels?
There is no national solar panel grant for every household. In England, the Warm Homes: Local Grant can include solar panels and batteries for eligible lower-income households, and ECO4 can include solar only alongside a heat pump or suitable electric heating. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme does not fund solar.
Is the eligibility check free?
Yes. The online check is free, takes a couple of minutes and does not commit you to anything. It gives a preliminary view based on your answers — final eligibility is confirmed through each scheme’s own process.
